Grab the build for your platform from the download page. Mac users: drag tonee.app to Applications. Windows: run the signed installer.
Note: on first launch macOS may prompt for microphone, network, and "control other apps". All three are required for voice + OSC. tonee never asks for anything else.
02 /Connect to Ableton
Open Ableton Live first, then open tonee. The app scans for a running Live process and connects automatically over OSC. You'll see a green dot in the status bar when it's ready.
If it doesn't connect, AbletonOSC isn't enabled:
# in ableton:
Settings→Link, Tempo & MIDI
# in an empty Control Surface slot, set the dropdown to:
AbletonOSC
03 /Your first prompt
The chat input is the only thing you need. Type anything. tonee will read your project, decide what to do, and either ask a clarifying question or execute. Try these three:
recipe · 01
"what's in this set?"
tonee summarizes your tracks, scene names, BPM and key. Read-only: nothing is changed.
scope · read
recipe · 02
"rename my tracks based on what they sound like"
Listens to clip names + device chains, suggests names, asks before applying. Single ⌘Z reverts.
scope · write · reversible
recipe · 03
"duck the pads under the kick"
Adds a sidechain Compressor on PAD bus keyed off KICK. Defaults are conservative; you tune from there.
scope · write · reversible
04 /Turn on voice
Push-to-talk is mapped to ⌘. globally. Hold it, talk, release. Your speech is transcribed locally and dropped into the prompt box. Voice never leaves your device.
Privacy: audio capture, VAD, and speech-to-text all run on your machine. We receive the transcribed text and nothing else. See the privacy policy for the signal-flow diagram.
05 /Try a saved recipe
Recipes are named chains of moves tonee remembers. Type /recipe to browse, or save what you just did with:
